Knowing my fate is to be with you

I haven't watched American Idol in quite some time, but I hear that this week they have to sing a song that was released the year they were born. This sounded interesting, so I did some research, and I would like you all to know that if I'm ever in a contest where I have to sing a song from the year I was born, you can expect three things:

1. I will sing ABBA's "Waterloo",

2. I will belt it out at top volume.

3. I will lose the contest.

I'd love to hear what my friends/readers would sing from the year of their birth. Wikipedia has a list of hit singles from each year - check out the year of your birth and tell me what you'd sing!

American Pie. Which means the parts I know would be belted out of tune and there would be a lot of mumbling lyrics in the middle :)

D'Arcy, this is awesome. I saw your title over on the link list on AK09 and thought, "Now, how do I know that? It's a song, right?" I love, love, love the song Waterloo.

My birth year seems to be a lot of disco and karaoke standards...Heart of Glass, I Will Survive, and the like. But looking through the "significant singles" list, I may have to go with The Gambler or Rapper's Delight, though I might lose interest after the first seven minutes of that one.

Kate: oh, don't get us started on The Gambler!!

Mine would be: Rebel Rebel, because I love David Bowie!! Or, maybe, "I Honestly Love You" because you know I can rock the cheesy song!
